Chthonic_Temptress by TheRyanFord Chthonic_Temptress by TheRyanFord
Chthonic (pronounced kuh-tonic) is an independent film about a married couple who both fall in love with the same woman.

This is 1 of 3 movie posters, all revolving around the same concept. Since everybody in the film eventually feels isolated despite their bizarre love triangle, I chose to use each poster as a focus on one character in the story, only adding the name of the film to keep the focus directly on said character and the mood created by the colors and form.

This poster is focusing on the temptress, whom the married couple both fall in love with. I chose to keep her identity partially ambiguous so she felt like a mystery woman, thereby causing the viewer to focus solely on her body and not on her personality. The red coloring is reflective of the "red light," which is a symbol for prostitutes or overall slutty women.

i adore the pose! the weird over exposed part of her legs looks a bit off, but easily over looked with the pose and attitude.

You know, I don't think it was the read light that gave it away. I'm thinking it was the tacky sunglasses. Lol.
Overall, I probably should have read the description on this one before the other one so that I would know that
the title is meant to be like that and no other details showing. However, I get this nagging feeling that if I hadn't
read the description, I think I'd be missing the point right now and possibly feel as lost and abandoned as that
girl up there. Is that your master plan?!? To make the audience feel alone and terrible and like they need to
know what's going on around them otherwise they just become husks of their former selves involved with some
imoral activity in some way that starts making them think twice about everything they are doing and why it's like
this and how it came to be this way and making them feel all alone, so terribly alone?

Well, congratulation, it worked. ;)

And now, that I've said that *In an imperious manner befitting the Queen of Hearts*: Off with her robe! =P

I feel there is way too much burn on this. Her leg, for example, shouldn't be so white. I feel that's a sign of it being far too over exposed. Also, the photo itself is quite grainy, which the over exposure exaggerates.

ah red is also for passion, which the poor couple are probably victims of lol. im glad that you blocked out certain "areas" btw, having them visible would leave nothing to the imagination and would detract from the overall feeling of the piece. also, i dont know how the FCC would feel about a more scandalous pic hanging in movie theaters :D.

Reminds me of 'Penny Lane' (Kate Hudson) from Almost Famous the movie. Looks like this one also communicates the message well.
