Creative Logo-2 by TheRyanFord Creative Logo-2 by TheRyanFord
I managed to get a little bit of free time today, and although I had a few things I could tackle I really wanted to re-address the Creative Logo I and $endosage had put together a few weeks back.

A lot of people had some comments about how the old factory idea wasn't working. I think we all knew it wasn't; we just wanted to see how people reacted to it.

Back to today, I recalled a comment somebody made about them thinking about the Creative team more as master craftsmen, and so I began exploring tools that craftsmen used. First I looked at a whittling tool, but I soon found that an illustration of it in a simplified form looked like a screwdriver. So that didn't work. Shortly thereafter I thought about a compass and a paintbrush merged together, and illustrated that idea. It was too complex, so I scrapped the thing and started over using just simple shapes. The end result is what you see here.

The Concept
The idea behind this is quite simple: precision art. It's what we do as designers and creative people. Every piece of art we make is built to serve a purpose, and all of us are very obsessed with pixel perfection. I feel pretty strongly that this logo suits us very well and I'm quite happy with it.

Tweaked a bit to provide for better balance and a stronger nib.

i believe that you got it right this time, you got a much simpler piece that represents a whole lot more
the factory idea was great but there are just too many industries that use a logo like that , so this beats the old one as far as "original" goes
i think the mark matches the type just great and over time the mark could stand alone with absolutely no problems
i am not shure though that i like how the mark looks next to the type...i feel as there is something missing
i would suggest that you try to put it in a shape that could have the drip effect the factory had, or just a simple shape
i think that could make it a bit stronger

overall i love it :)
nice clean work as ussual

I didn't comment on the previous concept because I felt that everyone was pretty much dead-on with their comments. I've gotta critique this one though to point some of the great things about it.

Firstly, this is much more simple and iconic logo, more of your style. I love the idea of craftsmanship because I always see the design industry as a craft.

The paint brush for creativity and the needle for accuracy is such a great idea. What I like most is the circle which is the best symbol for unity and since this logo is meant to represent a team, it fits well. The idea that the brush and needle joins to the circle all adds up as a great representation of teamwork.

For example, your job as CD is to have pixel perfect vision to lead a team of truly talented & creative people. That is represented well with the symbols used.

That's a great concept. A great comeback.

Thanks for the headsup. I didn't notice anything about it this time. So that must surely mean it's perfect. . . .

I like what you've done with the thickness of the left leg.
