This is a manipulation of a photo I took of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, located in downtown Los Angeles right across the street from MOCA.
The image you see here is so tall because it is actually just a layer of a typography project I'm working on in school. The final project will be a calendar-style poster for DCH.
In this project I'm taking a unique stance on the architecture. Most people are taking straight-on photographs of the building, but I'm focusing on the feeling one panel gives off. I felt the wavy, curved nature of one of the side panels felt very dream-like and serene, so I begin doing some manipulation of the imagery to further explore this idea.
The final size of this project will be 31.5 inches tall, 11.75 inches wide.
I'll post updates as I go on, but I felt this image was worth looking at on its own.
I thought on what fancy words I could use to describe this and then I thought hell I just want to slide on that thing. The best part is making it your own and showing something that everyone has seen one way differently than they might expect. I can't wait to see how you evolve this and add text.
