Description

This face, called fonce, is based off of characteristics of several typefaces, including Din, Trade Gothic, Interstate, and Helvetica. I have also simplified some forms, removing elements which are unnecessary for legibility.

Why write Hamburgefonts? For those unfamiliar with type design, the word contains all necessary curves and lines to create the remaining glyphs in the alphabet.

Update 1
Fixed the "o" to be less egg-like, and adjusted many curves on the letterforms to all have more similar weights (still needs more work, though). Added more letterforms such as "h" and "d" which are variants of pre-existing forms. Added some minor punctuation like period, plus, minus, and colon.

Update 2
Added p and q letterforms. Added exclamation mark. Adjusted the tiddle (dot) on the i.

Update 3
Cleaned up a ton of curves on all letterforms, most notably on the b, d, e, p, q, s, o, a, f, and t. Added the c. I just need to get the angular letterforms in there (y, x, w, v, z). After that comes caps and numerals.

Update 4
Added angular letterforms and more punctuation. The letter "j" is being a bitch.

Update 5
Completed lowercase forms, began work on Caps. Worked on clarifying weight relationships between letters and between lowercase and uppercase.

Update 6
Added the uppercase J, K, P, R, and X. Adjusted curves on lowercase a, b, and d to fix the optical problem where it looked like the bowls were pointing upwards. Worked more on the lowecase s, but still isn't perfected.

Update 7
Fixed the lowercase s. Yes, it's right on the money, now. Added some beginning numerals. Major weight and curve adjustments on lowercase letterforms.

oh your own font! is this the first time you've attempted something like this? i really like it, espectially the gentle curves. would be very pleasant to read on a printout... and, i really like the capital G for some reason o_O;.
