IndentDock by TheRyanFord IndentDock by TheRyanFord
IndentDock is for use with CandyBar

This is a simple Leopard Dock replacement that works with the faux dimension the OS forces into the dock. This dock does not contain any icons; it's only the dock style and that's it.

Enjoy.

(Update: Modified some of the graphics for sharpness)

Would you be able to port this to windows, for RocketDock or XWD? I really love the look of the dock/indicator! :)

I noticed that on the edges (left, right) there is some white pixels :( shows up only really when you are using a darker background.

Yes, those are intended to be there to give the dock some shape when on a dark background.

Hi Ryan!

Excellent work with the perspective effect!! :+fav:

I'd like your permission for porting - and publishing - this amazing skin to XWindows Dock [link] - the first Windows dock app. to mimic Mac OSX Leopard Dock. Just for illustration purposes, this is what it looks like after porting [link] (I've ported it for personal use), so that you can see that it looks just like your original creation. Of course all due credit would be given and also I'd put a link to this post. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Panta.

Nice work Ryan :) Could you give me permission to port it to RKlauncher or RocketDock?

Will it function identically?
This dock is really built around the way Leopard runs its dock, so any porting could nullify the whole point of this work to begin with. If it doesn't work identically, then I'd have to say no.

Well, it works on PC with minor differences, but I respect the concept behind this work. It won't ever work identically as it does on Leopard.

:) thanks though, nice work!

Ah, sweet. It's cool to see you makin' a dock. I have one question though. What's going on on the sides? The reflection looks kinda odd to me.
Reply
:icontheryanford:

It's intended to imply depth.
Reply
:iconendosage:
endosage Featured By Owner Jan 11, 2009  Professional Interface Designer
I got that part, but it looks like it's reflecting something that's not actually there because it doesn't go all the way across the dock. It stops before the edges. It seems that it'd look more correct if the dark area were to go all the way across or not be there at all.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. Install it and see how of feels then.

I did install it. What I'm talking about is... there's this darker area that runs across the dock and starts in the middle and goes back. On the left and right sides of the dock itself, there's notches in that dark area which makes it look like some rectangular object is sitting vertically behind the dock.

Here's what I'm talking about: [link]

That was done to reinforce the idea that the dock has dimension to it.
