l'eau 4 by TheRyanFord l'eau 4 by TheRyanFord
The missing water bottle I wasn't able to finish for my senior thesis several years back. I spent a bit of time on it recently, just to wrap it up.
This was one of several bottles I rendered in Photoshop as part of a project detailing perceived value, and how the outward appearance of items affects our perception of its inherent worth. In this case, it was water.

Pretty, but I'd go for the round one that doesn't hurt my hand.

'Oftentimes' is a word? I had to look it up in the dictionary. What a crazy language we have. Anyway, that's a nice, concise presentation. I wish there had been something creative in my degree course which started at the same time.

I know a friend who is oftentimes sold on box design alone, and I worry for him. :giggle: Perhaps those who understand design are less susceptible to such impulses.

PS. You probably don't care any more, but the Flash file seems to reload the page after some length of time, possibly at the end of the background music.

Maybe it's just me, and maybe I just don't have the same appreciation for design as others... but you basically took a milk carton and made it into a water bottle... and somehow it took a lot of work. And this bottle doesn't reflect any sort of image of prestige at all, so I hope that wasn't your intention.

By that logic it's also a block of cheese, a brick, a cardboard box, and a cowbell.

awesome work!

I think it'd give the bottle more depth if there was txt on the back of the bottle.

I love your sense of color & lighting. :D

Sorry to ask like this, but, is there somewhere where I can find this thesis and/or others?

there are some universities that "offer" (i just forgot the right word...) those for consulting.

I'm doing some research on branding and it is really hard to find academyc works (at least here in Brazil).

You're probably annoied with theese questions all the time, and sorry for being anothe one, but I think that as a teacher you probably know those kind of things...

This water must cost like thirty bucks. I pity the person who tries to drink from it. It looks extremely inconvenient. Hook me up with some cheap tap water and a glass please!

looks really great, but my perception is whoever buys this product will have problems holding it and should probably spend their money on something rounder. Reminds me of the Flinstones and how some people used those square rock wheels on their cars.

You don't pay $50 for a bottle of water and expect to be able to hold it. ;)

so you shell out another $50 for someone to hold it while you're drinking. I see where this is going... You should design the $5 straw as well.

Good thinking.
I'll design the straw and then the optional (but necessary) "Drink Mate™" personal drink-holding butler.

Thats a really good project concept actually. Rather thought provoking.
FYI, your square water vessel makes me want to throw down top dollar to have the distinct privelage of drinking L'eau du Liquisoft.

That actually sounded a little dirty, eh? hehe
