Depression

An informative poster about depression.

The assignment was to choose a medical condition (any medical condition) and create a poster or series of posters adding up to 400 square inches. The poster(s) had to inform the public about the disease using both information (the text) and a visual aid (illustrations or maybe even a line weight).

The poster is going to be die-cut on the left around the silhouette. This poster is also 40" wide by 10" tall.

04/12/04 update: After class I've altered the body copy and spaced it out in several ways: I gave it more leading, elongated the text boxes, and also changed the indents. I also compartmentalized the information so its easier to read.
I've also smoothed out our depressed friend at the left, and added another little runner to the "society triangle" on the top right in order to make it feel like there are more people.
I should also mention that I fixed the big guy's foot and butt, moved the headline down a bit to cover up the extentions on the e's, and lengthened the decender on the p.

4/20/04 update: Made the people larger, added more at tiny sizes and adjusted their placement.

Removed the line seperating sub-heads from copy and adjusted some of the wording.

Color was changed to be a bit deeper blue-grey.

5/03/04 update: Made some final tweaks to the rag, the colors, the people, the larger person, and even the subheads. This is the final version.
